MOGADISHU —<\/strong> A group of 47 Somali citizens stranded in Madagascar have been successfully repatriated to their homeland. The operation, authorised by President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, underscores the government\u2019s commitment to protecting its citizens, particularly those facing hardship abroad.<\/p>\n

Tragically,\u00a028 Somalis lost their lives during the perilous journey to Madagascar. The government has condemned the human traffickers responsible for this tragedy and vowed to take legal action.<\/p>\n

The repatriation mission was led by Abdilqadir Mohamud Yusuf, Director of the African Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Jibril Abdi from the Attorney General\u2019s Office. The team travelled to Madagascar to oversee the operation and ensure the safe return of the stranded citizens.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis operation demonstrates that Somalia has a government that prioritizes the rights and dignity of its citizens,\u201d said Burgal. \u201cWe are committed to bringing back Somali citizens trapped abroad without relying on foreign aid.\u201d<\/p>\n

The government has urged Somali citizens to be cautious of the dangers of illegal migration and the deceptive tactics of human traffickers. As the nation mourns the loss of 28 lives, the government extends its deepest condolences to the families of the victims.<\/p>\n
