MOGADISHU — <\/strong>The government of Somalia has successfully repatriated 24 young people, including an infant under 11 months old, who were stranded on the shores of Tunisia. These individuals were rescued from the notorious Magafa groups operating along the Tunisian coast.<\/p>\n

Upon their arrival at Mogadishu airport, the repatriated youth were warmly welcomed by members of the Somali government and their families. The envoy of the President of Somalia in charge of immigration and children\u2019s rights, Mary Yasin Yusuf, emphasized the Federal Government of Somalia\u2019s commitment to repatriating Somali citizens who have fallen into the hands of gangs exploiting migrants.<\/p>\n

The Federal Government of Somalia expressed its gratitude to the European Union for funding the implementation of this repatriation program. Additionally, the government acknowledged the contributions of other organizations that facilitated the successful return of these young individuals.<\/p>\n

This initiative underscores the Somali government\u2019s dedication to safeguarding its citizens and addressing the challenges faced by migrants stranded abroad.<\/p>\n
