Isha Dyfan, the Independent Expert on the situation of human rights in Somalia, addressed an Interactive Dialogue attended by key international partners, including representatives from the EU and the UK, emphasising the importance of global assistance to strengthen Somalia\u2019s human rights institutions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In her address to the Human Rights Council, Dyfan highlighted the toll of the conflict between Somali authorities and Al-Shabaab on civilians, as well as the impact of inter-clan disputes over resources and power. She expressed concern over persistent human rights violations affecting women, children, internally displaced persons, people with disabilities, and minority clans. Dyfan urged the Somali government to adopt specific measures to protect these vulnerable groups.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">While she commended recent efforts laying the groundwork for Somalia\u2019s human rights commitments, Dyfan stressed that more work remains, especially for those most affected by ongoing challenges.
