{"id":1449,"date":"2018-07-03T22:50:00","date_gmt":"2018-07-03T22:50:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sooha.org\/en\/?p=1449"},"modified":"2018-07-04T08:09:12","modified_gmt":"2018-07-04T08:09:12","slug":"iom-and-un-habitat-launch-community-action-plan-in-dollow","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sooha.org\/en\/2018\/07\/03\/iom-and-un-habitat-launch-community-action-plan-in-dollow\/","title":{"rendered":"IOM and UN-Habitat launch community action plan in Dollow"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>DOLLOW (SOHA) &#8211;<\/strong> Two UN agencies have launched an interactive plant platform involving Somalis in the planning of community projects.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the UN-Habitat said the Community Action Plan, which was launched in Dollow, will empower different socio-economic groups to actively participate in defining and making informed decisions on development interventions that are especially relevant to them.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;IOM is in the process of constructing an airport terminal hall and a health centre, as well as the rehabilitation of Dollow orientation centre and several district offices,&#8221; said the UN migration agency said in a statement issued in Mogadishu on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to IOM, participants include vulnerable people such as internally displaced persons (IDPs), returnees, women and girls, and host communities.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The UN housing agency, which is a key partner in the project, is supporting the local government of Dollow with analysis for urban planning consultations, and with durable solutions for protracted displacement.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;Together with IOM, they also assisted in the construction of a market at Qansaxley IDP camp, the construction of Kabasa IDP primary school and the rehabilitation of a Dollow orientation centre,&#8221; it said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to the UN agencies, the action plan outlines the current situation and community vision for peaceful coexistence, social cohesion and sustainable development in Dollow.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Source: XINHUANET<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"inline-ad\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>DOLLOW (SOHA) &#8211; Two UN agencies have launched an interactive plant platform involving Somalis in the planning of community projects.
