Two of the children are siblings.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA) has warned that the southern coastal regions are facing a <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">strong<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> storm named Lali, which has already affected parts of the East African coastline. &#8220;We are facing a difficult situation and working hard,&#8221; said Mohamud Moallim Abdulle, the agency&#8217;s chairman, highlighting their limited equipment and the frequency of disasters.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Merca residents report that despite the government&#8217;s warnings, they have yet to see a\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">storm that is stronger<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0than usual. Abdalla emphasized the importance of raising community awareness to prepare for the feared storm.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Typhoon Lali reportedly emerged from the Indian\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Ocean,<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0near the Seychelles coast. The World Meteorological Department defines a severe storm as\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">one that moves<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0with great force and originates from the sea. Currently, currents in the Indian Ocean are\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">stronger<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0than usual.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Somalia is experiencing severe climate change effects, having recently endured the longest drought in forty years, which ended in 2022.
