{"id":10228,"date":"2022-05-25T22:08:35","date_gmt":"2022-05-25T22:08:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sooha.org\/en\/?p=10228"},"modified":"2022-05-26T09:27:39","modified_gmt":"2022-05-26T09:27:39","slug":"qcs-student-sponsorship-creates-success-stories","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sooha.org\/en\/2022\/05\/25\/qcs-student-sponsorship-creates-success-stories\/","title":{"rendered":"QC&#8217;s student sponsorship creates success stories"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>DOHA &#8212;<\/strong> The number of students sponsored by Qatar Charity (QC) has reached 4,864 in 35 countries, including Somalia with more than 700 sponsored students.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The \u2018Student Sponsorship\u2019 project aims to help students, who are unable to afford their undergraduate and postgraduate studies, a QC statement explained yesterday.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The project has contributed to turning several sponsored students into prominent persons, who have achieved top ranks academically and important positions in their careers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Among the inspiring success stories created by the students sponsored by QC is that of Somalia\u2019s Hussein Abu Bakr, who used to memorse the Holy Qur&#8217;an in the evening, while grazing the livestock in the morning.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;Due to the humanitarian crisis faced by Somalia, my family was displaced to Mogadishu where I joined a Quran memorisation centre. However, due to the deterioration of the family&#8217;s living situation, I started working as a school guard.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;In 2008, I applied for a guard post at Qatar Charity\u2019s Somalia office. After being hired, I got enrolled in preparatory courses to join a regular school. In 2014, I graduated, with distinction, from the secondary school, and joined Mogadishu University\u2019s Faculty of Shari\u2019a and Law, with a scholarship from Qatar Charity.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;After the graduation from the university in 2018, I was nominated by Qatar Charity for the post of sponsorship supervisor.
