{"id":10134,"date":"2022-04-21T22:37:27","date_gmt":"2022-04-21T22:37:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sooha.org\/en\/?p=10134"},"modified":"2022-04-23T09:04:59","modified_gmt":"2022-04-23T09:04:59","slug":"hrc-expresses-concern-over-detained-journalists-in-hargeisa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sooha.org\/en\/2022\/04\/21\/hrc-expresses-concern-over-detained-journalists-in-hargeisa\/","title":{"rendered":"HRC expresses concern over detained journalists in Har&#8230;."},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>HARGEISA &#8212;<\/strong> Somaliland\u2019s Independent Human Rights Center (HRC) has released a statement on the situation of journalists illegally detained in Hargeisa since April 13,2022.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The center said it, the families and Lawyers had been prevented from meeting with detained journalists, despite repeated requests.<\/p>\n<div class=\"google-auto-placed ap_container\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cArticle 27 (1) of the Somaliland Constitution provides that a person deprived of his liberty shall have the right to meet with his lawyer, relatives or any other person as soon as possible.\u201d said the Center said in an statement.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The center finally had the opportunity to meet with detained journalists yesterday and raised the alarm on Mohamed Ilig\u2019s health condition.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cJournalist Mohamed Ilig, told the center, that he was detained in a confined space, suffocated he became unconscious.
